Wants, Needs, Desires, Longings
"Nobody wants me. Everybody wants you. I need a miracle."

What do we really want? What do we need? And what about desire?

I checked it out on the internet - and found some interesting differences
in want, need, desire in terms of what people look for most on the web,
when they use those words .

We want to be wanted, so there's the cry: "Nobody wants me."

We don't want to feel used, so people go: "Everybody wants you ..."
They don't mean that everybody loves you and not me. They're usually saying stuff like,
"Everybody wants you ... when you have money, are famous, and so on."

So here are wants vs needs bs desires, from the internet.

Need - there's a sense of urgency, very often about money:

I need money fast.
Need a loan now.
Bad credit need money.
I need a job.
I need money now.
Need financial help.
I need a loan.
I need a miracle.
I need a drink.
Need to breathe.

When the need is about love, the tone is less desperate:

Baby, I need your loving.
Everybody needs somebody to love.
I need a lover.
I need love.
All you need is love.

The tone sometimes becomes clinical -
with the need often relating to Mallow's famous hierarchy of needs:

5 basic human needs
hierarchy of needs
needs of living things
modest needs
his needs her needs
what the world needs now

When it's animals in need, the tone is again urgent:

Pets in need.
Dogs in need.
Animals in need.

Want - there's less urgency:

I want to break free.
I want it all.
Everything she wants.
What a woman wants
She gets what she wants.
What men want.
What men really want.
What women want.
I want one of those.
Everybody wants some.
What the heart wants.
Everybody wants you.
Nobody wants to be lonely.
Everybody wants some.
Baby wants candy.
Things people want.
I want to rock.
I want to play bridge.
I don't want you back.
I want a baby.

Sometimes the word want is used - but the tone is urgent:

I want you so bad.
Nobody wants me.

That's what happens when it's about suicide.
The word used is want, not need:

I don't want to be.
I want to kill myself.
I don't want to live.
I want to die.

Something is clearly needed - love, loving,
a sense of caring and being cared for,
a sense of having something to live for.
Something huge is absent, something that gives warmth, satisfaction, hope.

If you don't want to live, here's my message:
There is hope. There is love out there for you. Please reach out for help.
I want you to do that.

And with that, back to wants versus needs - and desire.
Desire - close to want,
perhaps best described as passionate want:

this is my desire
shameless desire
haunting desires
unconscious desires
forbidden desires
forbidden desire
dance of desire
your dark desires
beyond desire
freed from desire
endless desire
