Now looking at popular not thinking: where you are is exactly where you are meant to be; it will happen if it's meant to be, etc.
Not thinking, stupid opinion, bad arguments or none, logical fallacy: everyone is where they are meant to be.
The Idea Emporium - good thinking versus not thinking, logical thinking versus bad arguments.
"It
is a fact readily acknowledged, that for humans,
an idea is much more powerful than a fact."
One of these powerful ideas, backed not even by bad arguments,
just by not thinking, is that we are all where we are meant to be -
but other things are not meant to be, never meant to be.
Totally Stupid, Inane,
Idiotic "Thinking"
There I was, innocently sitting on the airplane, letting
time pass by watching in-flight entertainment. On came a well-known Canadian
singer. Good, I thought, I can see something that a lot of Canadians
are finding fun to listen to.
I was soon rolling my eyes. Over footage of all kinds
of different people, Bon Jovi was singing something like "Where
you are is exactly where you are meant to be."
Old, young, in a wheelchair even. Great, you might say, he values diversity.
I thought something quite different.
In my mind's
eye, I saw footage of people being massacred in Rwanda. "Where you
are is exactly where you are meant to be." People bombed to death.
A generation of children without parents, as in so many villages in Africa.
Six million Jews murdered. Genocide.
And then, in my head, I hear Bon
Jovi's inane words,"Wherever you are, that's where you are meant
to be."
It would have been good for the Jews to know that - all
6,000,000 of them, as they were herded to their mass deaths.
Bon Jovi gyrated on and on - as if his brain had been ground to mulch. Clearly he was not thinking. He didn't offer even any bad arguments.
But it's not just him. MORE

One of my lifelong concerns has been trying
to make sense of reality. What is happening? Why is this happening?
One reason is that there is loads and loads of not thinking - so easy to go with not thinking.
The earth is flat, most thinking is flat - or as some might say, thinking is not meant to be,
was never meant to be. But if you should be thinking, you are where you are meant to be -
but it's almost guaranteed that you are not getting much listening, which can be dismissed as
not meant to be, never meant to be.
